What We Believe

At the heart of all we do is the good news of Jesus Christ. We believe that God has made Himself known through His Word and invites us into a living relationship with Him through His Son. Our faith is rooted in historic, biblical Christianity — centered on the gospel and lived out in community, worship, and mission.

The Trinity – We believe in one God who exists eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power and glory.

The Bible – We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, the final rule for faith and life.

God the Father – We believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, who governs all things according to His perfect will and for His glory.

Jesus Christ – We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit – We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, brings new life to believers, indwells and empowers the Church, and produces spiritual fruit in those who walk by faith.

Humanity and Sin – We believe all people are created in the image of God yet are fallen through sin, separated from Him, and in need of salvation by grace.

Salvation – We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is the gift of God, not earned by works, but received through repentance and trust in Jesus Christ.

The Church – We believe the universal Church is the body of Christ, made up of all true believers, and that local congregations are called to gather for worship, discipleship, fellowship, and mission.

The Sacraments / Ordinances – We believe Christ ordained two ordinances for the Church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper — outward signs of inward grace, to be practiced in faith and obedience.

The Christian Life – We believe followers of Jesus are called to live by the Spirit, love God and neighbor, pursue holiness, and bear witness to the gospel in word and deed.

The Return of Christ – We believe Jesus Christ will return bodily and visibly to judge the living and the dead, to establish His kingdom, and to make all things new.

What We Believe About Salvation

At the heart of the gospel is the grace of God. We believe that salvation is entirely a work of His mercy — from beginning to end — and that God receives all the glory for rescuing and renewing sinners through Jesus Christ. The truths often summarized by the “Five Points of Calvinism” simply describe how God’s saving grace powerfully and lovingly works in the lives of His people.

1. Total Depravity - We believe that because of the fall, every part of human nature has been corrupted by sin. Apart from God’s grace, we are unable to come to Him, love Him, or choose what is truly good. We are not as bad as we could be, but sin affects every aspect of who we are — mind, heart, and will.

2. Unconditional Election - We believe that before the foundation of the world, God chose to save a people for Himself — not because of anything good in us or anything we would do, but solely out of His love and mercy. His choice is an act of sovereign grace that brings glory to His name.

3. Limited (Definite) Atonement - We believe that Jesus Christ’s death on the cross actually accomplished redemption for those the Father gave Him. His atonement is sufficient for all and effective for those who believe — fully securing their forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life.

4. Irresistible Grace - We believe that when the Holy Spirit calls someone to salvation, He powerfully overcomes their resistance and brings them to faith in Christ. This grace does not violate our will; it transforms our heart so that we come freely and joyfully to Jesus.

5. Perseverance (Preservation) of the Saints - We believe that those whom God has truly saved will be kept by His power to the end. Though believers may struggle and stumble, God’s grace sustains them, and He will complete the good work He began until the day of Christ Jesus.

Kingdom and the Future

We believe Jesus Christ is reigning right now — not waiting to be crowned, but already seated on the throne of heaven, advancing His kingdom through the power of the gospel. His rule is real, present, and growing, as the nations are taught to obey all that He commanded.

We hold a hopeful vision of history because we believe the victory of Christ’s kingdom is certain. The gospel is not merely saving individuals but renewing families, cultures, and nations. Over time, the grace of God transforms every sphere of life — art, education, law, politics, and community — until the knowledge of the Lord fills the earth as the waters cover the sea.

This does not mean a world free of suffering or struggle. The kingdom advances through the ordinary faithfulness of God’s people — preaching, prayer, worship, discipleship, and service — empowered by the Spirit. Evil will continue to resist, but it cannot and will not prevail against the reign of Christ.

We believe history is moving toward the triumph of Christ’s redemptive purpose in the world. The future is not one of retreat, but of renewal — a world increasingly brought under the gracious rule of Jesus, until He returns bodily to judge and resurrect the living and the dead, renew the cosmos, and dwell forever with His redeemed people.

Our doctrinal and theological beliefs can be summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith, which we affirm as a faithful expression of the system of doctrine taught in Holy Scripture.

We joyfully affirm the historic creeds of the Christian Church — including the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Chalcedonian Definition — as faithful summaries of the Christian faith confessed by believers throughout the centuries.
