Biblical — Holding uncompromisingly to the whole truth of Scripture. We proclaim the full counsel of God’s Word, with no “problem passages.”
Conservative — Preserving what the church as a whole has believed for thousands of years, while building upon those great truths. We stand on the shoulders of giants.
Liturgical — Following a liturgical pattern of worship, rooted in the great traditions of the church and reflected in historic Christian liturgies spanning millennia.
Historic — Embracing the church’s practices and beliefs regarding Scripture, worship, doctrine, and theology throughout history. Confessional- holding to the historic creeds of the Christian church, and the confessional standards of the reformers
Reformed — Grounded in the truths rediscovered by the Reformers of the 16th century: the five solas, covenant theology, and Calvinism.
Covenant Renewal Worship — Worship patterned after Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, in continuity with the church’s historic practice for thousands of years.
Cultural Renewal — Culture flows downstream from the church. We long to build a community where every moment and every endeavor is lived for Christ. Faith does not remain confined in our heart; it touches every sphere of life and therefore must transform every sphere of life. Because the gospel is powerful and transformative, it renews all things—our families, our work, our art, our stories, our friendships, and every pursuit—until Christ is all in all.
Covenant Baptism — We believe baptism is to be administered to believers and to their children, even to infants, on the basis of God’s covenant promises to us and to our children in Scripture. Yet we also honor the convictions of parents who differ, recognizing that the church has not reached universal agreement on this matter.
Weekly Communion — Continuing the practice of the apostolic and early church: gathering weekly around the table of the Lord Jesus Christ to eat and drink with Him.
Covenant Communion — Welcoming all the baptized who believe to partake with us—including little children, even though their faith may be small.
Psalms & Hymns — Singing the 150 psalms inspired by God in Holy Scripture, as well as the finest hymns the church has sung for thousands of years.
Christian Education — Upholding the importance of instruction in Scripture, doctrine, and theology, and discipling the nations by teaching them to obey all that Jesus commanded.
Optimistic — Confident that Jesus will be victorious in this world, advancing His kingdom from generation to generation until His will is done on earth as it is in heaven.
